Welcome to Bridgend County Swim Squad    Croeso i Garfan Nofio Penybont Ar Ogwr

Performance Squad

The Performance Squad is the top squad of Bridgend County Swim Squad and has historically produced International, British and Welsh National Medallists. The squad is split between Youth and Age Group, with swimmers following a Performance Programme set out by our professional Head Coach, Matt Williams, and Assistant Head Coach, Ben Reid, for swimmers to reach their full potential.

This squad is essentially the “Swim Wales Regional Performance Centre” of the Club and all members should aspire to one day be a part of it.

Swimmers within the Performance Squad will begin to learn to train as Performance Swimmers, using the skills and technique developed from the Competitive Skills squad to train within specific zones, adhere to a competition calendar and be aiming to compete at the highest level possible.

Swimmers will need to bring with them each session: -

•      A swimming hat (for those with long hair)

•      Alignment board

•      Pull Buoy

*All squad moves will be at coach’s discretion.

*Based on the ongoing continuous assessment swimmers that are not making the squad requirement will be reviewed. Swimmers will be giving an opportunity to improve this over a 4-8-week period.
